Get Started

Why Should I Participate?

Colleges and employers are seeking individuals with a proven track record of leadership and exhibition of out of the box thinking. Rising Starters™ allows high school students the opportunity to learn valuable presentation and communication skills outside of the classroom at their high school, then participate in a collegiate level competition – all while honing entrepreneurial skills that last a lifetime.

How Do I Get Started?

  • Step 1: Identify which faculty member will help coach the students.
  • Step 2: Promote your high school’s entrepreneurship pitch competition through the school’s newsletters, take home print-outs, social media pages, etc. to get the word out!
  • Step 3: Host an entrepreneurship pitch competition at your high school and select a winning team or individual by May 10, 2021.
  • Step 4: Email Rising Starters™ Program Manager Roger Lee at with the name(s) of your winning team or individual.
  • Step 5: Email Rising Starters™ Program Manager Roger Lee at with a video of your winning team or individual’s 5-minute pitch. Roger will send you his own feedback video within two weeks of your submission.
  • Step 6: Email Rising Starters™ Program Manager Roger Lee at with your winning team or individual’s signed participation forms (required) and final PowerPoint presentation slides.

Media Kit

The media kit includes logos, two social media posts, a digital flyer and copy for various email to promote your high school’s pitch competition and the Rising Starters™ event at Drexel University.

Two so far! The first was hosted in May 2018 and the second in May 2019.

The program starts with participating high schools hosting their own entrepreneurship pitch competition. Winning high schools teams and individuals will attend and compete in the final Rising Starters™ entrepreneurship pitch competition held on Drexel University’s campus in early December.

Rising Starters 2021 will run Monday, May 10th from 3:30-6:30 pm EST on Zoom.

We send photo release forms to each school’s competitors that will be attending the final round at Drexel University. If the student and/or their parent or guardian do not consent to the student’s photo being taken, we alert our marketing and photography teams to ensure that the photo is not captured.
